Military Honors For Sergent Zinchenko. On November 12th a final salute with military honors was given to our Brother and Staff Member Sgt. Dmytro Zinchenko by the European Paratroopers Association. Family members and comrades from Ukraine and Italy said their last formal farewell together with a hundred people who took part to the ceremony to pay their respects to Sergent of the Guard Dmytro Zinchenko, who lost his life last October 14th in a parachute accident during a jump exercise at the National Parachute Test Center, in Marion Country, Florida, USA. Sergeant of the Guard Dmytro Zinchenko was an Airborne Instructor, an Ukrainian Reserve Paratrooper and a decorated Soviet–Afghan War combat veteran. While serving with the Red Army Airborne Forces in the Afghan war he was deployed to Gardez, Paktia Province, Afghanistan where he was involved in several combat actions from 1985 to 1987. By his demise we have not only lost a Director, a Staff Member and an Instructor of the European Paratrooper Association but also a good friend and true comrade, a wonderful person, valued, respected, and loved.
